Global PC CPU market report for the fourth quarter of 2023: Intel shipped 50 million units, accounting for 78%, far exceeding AMD 6 times

According to the latest report released by market research agency Canalys, Intel CPU shipments in the fourth quarter of 2023 were 50 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3%, which is 6 times that of AMD (8 million units); Apple ranked 6 million units third.

Overall, Intel continued to solidify its PC CPU market leadership last quarter, capturing 78% of the market, while AMD’s share was only 13%.

Rapid growth of MediaTek and Qualcomm Although MediaTek and Qualcomm are major players in the mobile field, their share of the PC market is negligible. However, MediaTek achieved 27% growth through the success of Chromebooks. Canalys analyst Ben Yeh believes that by providing processors for Windows devices, both companies can expand market share in the future.

The report also showed that Intel’s CPU revenue increased by 2% to $41 billion, while Apple’s revenue increased by 8% year-on-year to $8 billion. AMD’s revenue was $5 billion, up 6% from the same period last year.

Qualcomm and MediaTek have yet to cross the $1 billion revenue mark, but the former is poised to make big gains in the coming year with the upcoming Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus SoCs.

Lenovo is the largest customer of Intel and AMD. Among PC suppliers, Lenovo is Intel’s largest customer, accounting for 25% of its total CPU shipments. HP, Dell, Acer and Asus are the top five, accounting for 23% each. , 19%, 7% and 6%.

For AMD, Lenovo remains the company’s largest customer, accounting for 40% of its total CPU shipments, with HP, Asus and Acer accounting for 29%, 14% and 6% respectively.
