On Thursday, AMD held an AMD AI PC Innovation Summit in Beijing. Su Zifeng appeared and shouted the slogan “AMD AI PC YES!”
At this summit, Su Zifeng announced AMD’s upcoming release of the next-generation Ryzen processor, code-named ‘Strix Point,’ featuring new RDNA3+ and XDNA2 technologies.
Although the specific name for the next-generation Ryzen processor remains undecided, it’s likely to belong to the 9000 series. Among them, “Strix Point” may be part of the Ryzen 9050 series and is expected to be among the initial products featuring the Zen5 microarchitecture.
Su Zifeng also emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning acceleration, pointing out that XDNA in the Hawk Point series has already achieved this. The upcoming XDNA2 is expected to provide stronger performance in this regard.
Wang Qishang, AMD GPU Technology EVP, discussed RDNA3+ and XDNA2, emphasizing XDNA2’s triple AI performance boost. Wang Qishang didn’t detail RDNA3+, but Su Zifeng stated it complements RDNA4 rather than replaces it.
Intel intends to launch Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake alongside AMD’s Strix Point processors later this year. The latter will have three times the GPU and AI acceleration performance of Meteor Lake.
