Disclosure: Nvidia GB202 GPU may be equipped with 512bit 28Gbps GDDR7 graphics memory

Exclusive disclosure: Nvidia GB202 GPU may use 512bit 28Gbps GDDR7 memory, kopite7kimi exposes new evidence

A few days ago, the well-known informant Kopite7kimi changed his perspective and now asserts that Nvidia upcoming flagship gaming GPU , the GB202, will feature a 512-bit bandwidth, suggesting the inclusion of 28Gbps GDDR7 graphics memory.

As early as 2023, Kopite7kimi mentioned the view that GB202 adopts a 512-bit memory bit width, and now it seems that he has received new evidence to support this view.

According to previous reports, Kopite7kimi pointed out that the first batch of GDDR7 graphics memory will use the lowest 16Gb capacity. This implies that the entire GB202 will sport 32GB of graphics memory, boasting a total bandwidth of 1792GB/s, a figure nearly 80% higher than that of GA102.

In terms of the second flagship core, Kopite7kimi has also provided new insights, believing that the scale of GB203 will be half that of GB202.

Current predictions suggest that the GB202 core includes 192 SM and 24,576 CUDA cores. The expected configuration for the GB203 includes 96 SM and 12,288 CUDA cores, paired with a 256-bit graphics memory bit width identical to that of the AD103.

Kopite7kimi also pointed out that, regarding computing cards, the high-end GB100 core is expected to feature a multi-chip package with two GB102 cores. Nevertheless, consumer-grade products are unlikely to adopt this configuration.
