At the 2024 MWC, Intel executives revealed in an interview that the technology industry is seeking the next growth driver and stated that the company’s goal is to provide processors for over 100 million AI PCs by 2025.
Feng Dawei, Vice President of Intel’s Client Computing Business Unit and General Manager of Client Segmentation Marketing, stated that the company expects to deliver 40 million AI PCs this year and an additional 60 million next year. He also revealed plans that by the end of 2025, the proportion of AI PCs in the global PC market will exceed 20%.
Feng Dawei emphasized in an interview, “Entering the era of AI PC requires not only providing high-performance processors, but also ensuring the balanced development of the software ecosystem through continuous interaction with developers.”
He continued, “Through deep collaboration with over 100 software vendors, Windows 11, and Copilot, we bring users a brand new AI experience. 2024 will be the time for device updates, preparing for AI.”
Feng Dawei also stated that he will collaborate with other suppliers to explore the application of various AI skills, such as video conferencing to track user gaze, removing backgrounds, translating sign language and transcribing it into text, automatically creating presentations based on prompt words, and collaborating with NPU resources to work with antivirus software, among others.
